After the tremendous success that the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation has acquired from the last 2011 Dragon Boat World Championships, the team is finally here in the Philippines. The team brought 5 Gold and 2 Silver Medals from the said competition.
It’s just sad that the government was not able to give them the recognition (Hero’s welcome) that they deserve unlike the previous athletes that brought honor to our country. They did have a courtesy call on the president though. If we come to think of it, these are the athletes that we should be truly proud of, since all members are “Pure Pinoy”. No offense to those half-blooded Filipino athletes, we are also very proud of them but the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation is a greater reason for us to be proud of being a Filipino.

i agree with you. wala man lang silang recognition bakit kaya. baka kasi hindi sila gwapo tulad ng iba. it’s just annoying na ganun trato nila porket matanda na sila. tsk tsk…

Sure they won a couple of times, but the Dragon Boat has been winning several times in the World Championships.
I think it’s the Dragong Boat team’s decision not to be a member of the organization where they should be a member of. That is the reason why they are not give the supposed amount. But whatever it is, I know Filipinos are proud of them.
Indeed true! We should just be all proud of em and hope gov’t will do something about it. They should not ignore these amazing people.
