After the tremendous success that the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation has acquired from the last 2011 Dragon Boat World Championships, the team is finally here in the Philippines. The team brought 5 Gold and 2 Silver Medals from the said competition.
It’s just sad that the government was not able to give them the recognition (Hero’s welcome) that they deserve unlike the previous athletes that brought honor to our country. They did have a courtesy call on the president though. If we come to think of it, these are the athletes that we should be truly proud of, since all members are “Pure Pinoy”. No offense to those half-blooded Filipino athletes, we are also very proud of them but the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation is a greater reason for us to be proud of being a Filipino.
